Tibetan Freedom Fighters

A Cyclic Whirlwind!

December 3, 2012 by Saguna Shah of bOOkahOlics, Kathmandu, Nepal

“Jupiter, an American drifter down on his luck, falls prey to Gerard, a retired heroin smuggler. The protagonist is forced by circumstance to reside with this repugnant dinosaur in his dinghy den and scrape out a living. After Gerard’s unexpected demise, Jupiter finds random pieces of the puzzle that might lead him back to Betty, Gerard’s old flame. Before he can be implicated, Jupiter decides to flee and solve the mystery on his own.

Upon reaching Nepal, Jupiter wakes to discover himself in dire circumstances. Enter Maya, a guardian angel with ulterior motives. Soon thereafter Jack, a link to Gerard’s past, unexpectedly surfaces. The three strangers, thrown together by circumstance, flee for their lives into one of the remotest regions on earth.

As the trio climbs higher into the Himalayas, they battle for survival as Jack’s dark secret begins to unravel, detailing the tragic historical events surrounding the resistance movement of the Tibetan Freedom Fighters, a band of brave soldiers trained by CIA operatives to fight the Chinese occupation of Tibet.

Samsara is a fast-paced, dark yet humorous novel illustrating the suffering found in all of our lives. It is the never-ending story of man’s struggle trying to break free from the cyclic wheel. Like it or not, all of us are trapped in this big mother of a wheel, a globe full of hamsters running round and round, going everywhere, going nowhere…”
