“This type of book is a rare find these days. When I was reading it of course I was deeply involved and when I put it down, I was continuously contemplating it.
I felt really attached to the characters, and by the end didn’t want the book to end, at all! In fact, I stopped reading it for some time as I didn’t want to finish it. In parts I was laughing out loud, while at other times I was deeply saddened, shocked and appalled.
Abramczyk cleverly and sardonically depicts what it is really like for the tourist, traveler and expat in Nepal, particularly in the opening part of the book. As the story develops the author’s humor continues to shine through.
For me, this book is more than a novel, I really learned a lot about Nepali culture and Tibetan history, even though I’m living in Nepal a lot of the stuff in this book was new and insightful, particularly in relation to the Tibetan cause.
I recommend this book to anyone who simply loves a good read.”
