“One of the best travel fictions and one of the bests in my favorite genre, dark humor. With Samsara Abramczyk
leaves Jack Kerouac, Chuck Palahniuk, Shantaram and Seven years in Tibet all far behind. If super cool metaphors and vivid narration with a grippy and trippy plot is your style go for Samsara. If you’re a traveler at heart,
I’ll tell you how to enjoy a crazy, sexy, wild and mysterious journey-sit somewhere in a cozy corner…and pick up and read Samsara!”
Whirlwind!
“Reading Samsara is like getting sucked into a whirlwind you’re not sure you’ll get out of in one piece.
It is tantalizing and intelligent, and tickles your curiosity.
Intimately familiar with Nepali culture, Abramczyk manages to weave a great love for Nepal into a rough tale like no other.”
Provocative Journey
“I read SAMSARA while on a surf trip in Morocco where I met the author. At the beginning I disliked all the characters, particularly the main protagonist. They were variously misogynistic, pathetic, irresponsible and just plain stupid. Like a successful artwork a successful novel provokes emotion of any kind. My loathing for the main characters kept me reading and as I did I grew to like, possibly even love each of them at times. Jack’s past, Maya’s bravery and Jupiter’s blundering led to a journey of discovery for both them and myself. I really want to know what Abramczyk writes next!”
Fantastic Read
“I took my time with Samsara. Historically informed, Abramczyk explores the turmoil of Maoist tensions in Nepal and the Tibetan struggle. As the storyline unfolds, you become drawn into the world of erratic ex-drug smuggling Jack and the unfolding love-hate relationship between Jupiter and fiery Maya . Action-packed, raw and almost autobiographical in nature, I would highly recommend Samsara. A fantastic read – intuitive, sensitive and graphic, it explores the life of ex-pats and Nepalese alike in Nepal with gritty detail. A complex and well-thought out storyline. Looking forward to the next book.”
Can’t Wait For the Next One!
“Once I opened this book and started to read I felt I was there in the shadows watching the story unfold, the only thing missing were the smells! The characters were very well developed and likeable, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one! Get writing David!”
